If wei can interest the mothers. In better schools and better social conditions for their- children we will have done a great deal to ward solving some of the most perplexing problems of country life. for they can do more in this work than anyone. And they are becoming much more inter ested than formerly. Miss Mauldin, the home dem onstration agent, has . already organized women's clubs at Oolenoy and Peters Creek, also at George's Creek. There has been a club at the latter place for more than a year, but it has now become a demonstration club. The school improvement associations at Zion, Flat Rock and Mt. Tabor are to combine their work with the demonstra tion work during the next month. The canning clubs will be of great advantage to our girls and young women. They will re ceive much instructivo and ben eficial literature from the gov. ernment, which will befully ex plained by Miss Mauldin. Dem strations will be given also. No, girl need hesitate to join these clubs on account of not knowinA how to carry out the instruc tions. Martin, Mile Creek, Pickens, Flat Rock and Zion were among the schools at which canning clubs were organized Irecently. Flat Rock canning club will have 17 members. This is the largest number at any school so far. Death at Easley The' Easley rcorrespondent of the * Greenvil~News osays:Josiph-M.Ram pey. one of the old1et ciIzensof Eas ley, died at his home here Sunday morn ing about 9:30 o'clock. He has been in declining health for the past two years and in a rather critical condition for the past two weeks so the end was not a surprise to those who were acquainted with the conditions. Mr. Rampey is seventy-three years of age and is originally a native of Greenwood county. He came here many years ago where he engaged in the merchantile :business until about 10 years ago, at which time he was forced to abandon the profession on account of feebleness. For a number of years he was an active member of the Methodist church. Before coming to Easley Mr. Ram pey was married to a Miss Blythe, also of Greenwood, who survives him. The funeral services were held at Rehoboth church, Greenwoodl county, Monday afternoon. Rev. J. T. Mann's Appointments Rev. John TF. Mann wvill be among the churches in Pickens county during the month of April. .Following are his appointments: First- Sunday-li a. m. at Mountain View; 3.30 p. mn. at Praters Creek. Third Sunday-11 a. m. at Norris; 3.30 p. m. at Six Mile, and Cateechee at night. .Prof. R. M. Bolding and Mrs. Mann will sing at each service. Everybody cordlially invited to attend.
