J Thurmond of the western dis trict. Mr.Thurmond stated that. with extra help, he and Assist ant District Attorney Mayes had made good progress with the proceedings, but that it would e impossible to have the vari. )us cases in shape for trial at he term of the court commenc ng next Tuesday. Papers in all >ut seven of the cases have been o.npleted, but the law requires hat the action must be adver ised for six weeks. Mr. Thurmod stated that at his time it was almost impos ible to estimate the number of Lcres that will be involved. From monetary standpoint it will probably mean the expenditure 'y the government of more than 100,000.
