Yongue and Ben Griffin of Pickens are in Easley supervising the construc tion of a large livery stable building for Jameson & Craig. A. Vincent Hamilton, the handsome and accomodating~ assistant to Dri. Hallum in the Pickens Drug Co., spent several clays last week in Greenville and1 Easley. Loin Looper, of Tiamasse, Oconee county, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Frank Looper, is on a visit to homefolks in Pickens. Mr, Looper is doing well in his adopted county. Mrs. WV. Ernest Freeman and little child Jack, of Greenyille, visited Mrs. W. E. Freeman in Pickens several days last week. Ernest came over Satur (lay in a car and carried them b~ack to their home Sunday. Sheriff Roark wvent to Dalton, Ga., arrested and br1ought back to Pickens Furman James, Fri day. James, along with Cole man Caudle, escaped from the county chaingang last February. Caudle has not yet been caught. Miss Thalia Griffin, a very charming young lady of Green ville, visited her friend, Miss Nellie Freeman in Pickens last week. Miss Freeman returned home with Miss Griffin Sunday and will be her guest mn Green ville several days. The Pickens Chapter of the United Daughters of the Con federacy will give an afternoon tea on the courti house la wn Fri (lay afternoon, beginning at 4 o'clock. Miss Meda Boggs will give her graduating piano recital tonight (Wednesday) at the Greenville Woman's College. She also finishes a course in book-keeping and a course in domestic science. Miss Maka Boggs. attended the recital. Misses Mildred Cox, Frances Bruce and Mrs. A. M. Morris at tended commencement at Chi cora College in Greenville this week. Mr. Robinson denies that the fish wero biting so well that he had to hide behind a tree to bait his hook. They conducted services at one of Mr. Foster's churches, Sunday.
