Advertising a Benefit To Our Community Advertising has a remarkable influence upon a community, and there is a marked difference between a town full of good ad vertisers and a town where little advertising is done, says an ex change. There is no question that advertising keeps much money in a town that would otherwise go out of it. It brings money from the surrounding tawns. It stimulates competi tion, and competition is the life -of trade. It results in better stores and better goods. It makes the newspaper better and more prosperous, which helps to bring money and people to the town. Eulogy to Dewey Dobson. February 26 Dewey Dobson passei away to his long abode. He was a bright, energetic young boy of 15 years and, being quick in making friends, his Itragic death is mourned by many. Truly, I"In the midst of life we are in death." Sympathizing friends stand loyally by his parents during their bereavement. The following lines are lovingly written to the one we all loved: "Dust thou art, and to dust returneth," Spoke the preacher long and plamn; "Like the grass of the field that with ereth," Came in tones of anguish and pain. Thus I sat in the church pew dreaming. While I listened to these words, Barely dreaming of the meaning, As the cause seemed so absurd. pHe has gone to a land far distant And wvith angels made his home; He has left all earthly sorrows. And wvith Jesus he will roam. But my reverie was broken By that sad, pathetic song.. Yet it see med to me a token Of the life he will live so long. Sweet it sounded to my soul, As the words came passing by: "Jesus, lover of my soul. Let me to Thy bosom fly." bThus I sat, my mind at musing. Thinking of this darling boy; Thinking ofthe days Iknew him. When his life seemed all a joy. Of aeI in the schoolroom with hin Coprdhim with the other boys, But there was none, not one among them That beamed with life and mirthfu Sjoys. He ws wttyand quick in learning, An ewas handsome as a god; But now to dust he is returning, 'Neath the cold and pulseless sod. And as I watched him lowered downwar< SInto his lonely, cheerless tomb, I knew his soul was speeding onward To a land of blissful doom. <And yet the parting seemed so bitter. Because we all loved hir. so well; SBut still a thought comes now to cheer us He in heaven will ever dwell. SAnd I know not why this sorrow Was allowed to come to hand; Yet I know in the distant morrow We all will understand. Dewey is gone, we know 'tis true, Never more to see us here; But we may join him with the few Assembled there by Christ so dear.
