Little Girl Burns to Death at Liberty On Saturday at the Liberty mill village, the little 5 year old child of Mrs. Willbanks caught fire and was so severely burned that she died in few hours The mother of the child was in the mill at work, trying to support herself and four child ren, It is not known how the child caught fire. Liberty Locals Mrs. H. G. Smith and Miss Vivian Allgood spent Saturday in Pendleton, visiting Miss Nell Newton, who is very ill. * . Mr. Willie Elunt and Misses Annie Bell Brown, Vivian All good spent some days last week attending the B. Y. P. U. con vetition in Greenville. Mr. L. B. O'Dell has just opened up a wholesale and 're tail grocelies, grain and hay business -here. We extend to him a hearty welcome. Mrs. L. A. Boggs entertained the U. D. 0. Chapter last Fri day-afternoon. Mrs. Mollie Smith, wife of Mr. P. A. Smith died Saturday Feb ruary 14 at the Woodside mill at Greenville. Her body was brought to Liberty on Sunday and interred in the Smith bury ing ground at Smith's chapel. Sh leaves a husband and four children and a host of friends to mourn her death. Mr. B. P. Mauldin A good man passed away last week when Mr. B. P. Mauldin died. He died at his home near Glassy Mountain Monday morn ing, February 16, and was buri-. ed the next day at Tabor dhurch cemetery, Rev. L. E. Wiggins of Pickens conducting the funeral services. Mr. Mauldin was about 65 years 'old at the time of his leath and had been a member of Tabor church 40 years, being an official member for a num ber of years. He was held in h~igh esteem by eyeryone who knew him, and a large body of sorowing friends and relatives attended the last services over his remains.
