A Students' Exchange has
been organized at Winthrop by
the Young Women's Christian
Association. The purpose of
this Exchange is to enable the
girls who so desire to make
money for defraying their cur
rent expenses by laundering,
pressing, cooking, and doing
other odd jobs. Miss Pearl Mc
Crorey, our efficien t Y. W. C. A.
secretary, is in charge of the
Exchange, and hopes to have,
at an early date, a room special
ly equipped for the work. Great
interest is being manifested and,
a promising future seenis to be
in store for the Exchange.

of the Women's Missionary
Union of the First Presbytery
of the Associate Reformed Pres
hyterian church, which was
held in Rock Hill last week.
Dr. Johnson has recently pur
chased a moving picture ma
chine, and has had it installed
in the auditorium. We have
moving pictures twice a week,
and they are greatly enjoyed by
all the students. The pictures
are very educational.
The Southern Educational
Association meets at Nashville,
Tenn., this week. Winthrop
will be represented by Dr. D. B.
Johnson, Dr. J. E. Waimsley,
Mrs. Hetty Brown, all of whom
are on the program.
Mrs. D. B. Johnson gave her
annual reception to the faculty
and officers of Winthrop college
last Monday afternoon, Oct. 20.
The York County Fair was
held on Winthrop campus Oct.
16th and 17th. The Winthrop
girls were given a holiday the
17th, which of course was great
ly enjoyed. There were many
interesting exhibits, and the
whole fair was a success.
