The Arlington Confederate Monument Committee 'appeals to the citizens of South CarQ lina to assist them in raising their part of the remaining eighteen thousand dollars, pledged by the United Daugh ters of the Confederacy in 'con tract with Sir Moses Ezekiel, sculptor. This Monument is to be a final and lasting tribute to the whole Confederacy, Army and Navy; and the committee be lieves that the men and women of South Carolina will gladly join hands with the United Daughters of the Confederacy in doing honor to the soldiers who followed the Stars and Bars.
