Carey, Jr., has re turned from a trip to Miami, Florida, where he went on busi ness Mr. and Mrs. McCagen of Greenville were the week end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Ritchey. Thurman Cochran has gone to Birmingham, Ala., to join the Southern League base ball team of that city. Mr. and Mrs. Drew Attaway, Miss Margaret Attaway of Greenville and Miss Eula Atta way of Liberty were the guest of Mrs. Sarah Attaway last Sunday. Boone Care'y of the Riverside Military Academy in Gaines ville is spending his vacation in Pickens. A number his class mates attended the inauguration in Washington. Mr. Sam Mauldin of the Mt. Pisgah section of Anderson county is in Pickens on business this week. Mr, Mauldin is one of Anderson county's most prosperous farmers and good citizens. Bruce Stewart, a student of Clemson College, son of Mr. Robert Stewart of Pickens, came home Tuesday to remain until he sufficiently recovered from a spell of sickness to re sume his studies. We hope he will soon be 0. K. again. Mr. Smith, the photographer, is in Pickens every Monday morning. He invites all svho desire pictures made, framed or finished to give him a trial. Mr. Smith does excellent work and and any one desiring anything in his line, will do well to call on -him at his office over the Keowee Pharmacy. Miss Booke& of Greenville has come to Pickens to take up her work as milliner with Heath Bruce-Morrow Company. Miss Booker comes highly recomend ed to us and we are glad to have her in our city. We wish for her the best success with her work. Miss Josie Chastain will assist Miss Booker. The five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Lynch of the Sunset se tion of this county, had an eye shot out by an older brother on February 28th. The boys were playing with a bow and arrow when an arrow hit the younger boy in the eye. It was entirely an accident. The little fellow was taken to Green ville and is doing well. The sale now on at Craig Bros. has proved to be a great boon for purchasers. Unheard of bargains have been going every day since the sale opened last Friday. Many articles of splendid value have been mark ed down so low that it seems like giving them awvay. Your patronage will be appreciated. A letter from Miss Patti Maior to a friend in town brings the good news that she is having the time of her life sight seeing in Washington. She with the senior class from Winthrop took in the inauguration of President Wilson and spent a week in the city. They were in charge of President Johnson. Miss Grace Prince, milliner this season for Folger Thornley Company, is here for the mil linery season. Miss Prince was formerly a resident of Pickens and has many friends who are glad to have her here.
