Final Payment On
Apto Pire Truck.
The final paymeut on the automo
bile fire truck was mude yesterday
morning by city clerk and treasurer
E. M. Scott, which was purchased by
I city council April 10, 1911, after lt had
I been on approval for 30 days. A cash
j payment of $2,500 and three notes for
$1,000 each, bearing simple interest
at the rate of 6 per cent and maturing
in one, two and three years elosoa the
deal. Hie last of the three notes was
paid yesterday morning. Fire Chlor
Jackson is of the opinion that the
truck has more than paid for itself
during tho four years the city has had
it. During the four years the truck
has been in use it has cost the city but
$270 for repairs. During these four
years the city has received from the
State insurance department approx
mately $2,500, so the city really has
only about $3,500 invested In the
I .truck. It is an American-La France
( type No. 10 machine.
