N'est Monday is the regular meeting of the seven divisions of the W. M. S. of thc First Haptlst church. At each of these meetings they are going to have a "Christmas shower" for Con nie Maxwell Orphanage at Greenwood. The idea or thiB originated with Mrs. King, the secretary, and is going to 'oe carried out hy tho women of tho society. After the plans were begun here, Dr. Jamison also wrote an ap peal for help in the Baptist Courier. The society asked Dr. Jamison (who ls the superintendent of the orphan age) for the names and ages of the children of two cottages, one of boys, one of girls, ?*> that tbey might send Christmas gifts intelligently. This in the work for Monday and they hope to make 45 llttlo boys and girls happy. Any other women In this county who would like to help In this work dre asked to join with these ladles. The cottages have only from 20 to 25 chil dren so almost any society might take one. Gifts that are useful and look like Christmas-they are always go ing to have the necessities-but In this year of unrest and confusion in business worlds let the women re member what, they would wish for theirs and do even so "unto one of these little ones." If Monday's weath er prevents any member of the di visions from carrying her gifts, let lt be sent to the leader of her own di vision and she will see that it reaches the committee. The box will bo sent next week before the holiday rush. Dr. W. H.
