Soars, of Boston, owners of tho j Equinox Mills and selling agents and large stockholders In the Gluck Mills, ! were tn Anderson yesterday for tho purpose of inspecting the former plant, wh.'eh waa recently converted from a yarn mill Into one for tho manufacture of duck and such ma terial. Accompanying these gentle men were H. P. Sears, Joshua R. Richmond and Nathan Hall, all of Bos ton. Tho forenoon was span* in mak ing an inspection of the Equinox Mill plant When seen yesterday at the Chtquola Hotel hy a reporter for the Intelligencer these gentlemen ex pressed themselves as highly pleased with the affairs of the mill, while Mr. ! Francin P. Seai? remarked, "The mills are going to be a credit to the city of Anderson." The Equinox Mills has been running full time for i a considerable while and of late has been running extra time. Large or ders are in hand which are enough to keep the mill going for some time. Large quantities ot duck are being ' manufactured for the European ar mies. Shortly after noon the directora of the Gluck Mills, taking advantage of these gentlemen's presence in the city, met at the office of J. R. Vandi ver, president ot the Farmers and Merchants Bank, and declared a semi annual dividend ot S per cent on the Gluck Mill stock, payable December 81. and elected H. S. Sears a director in the mill vice the late N. B. Sulli van. No other elections were held and little other business was trans acted.
