Shortly before 2 o'clock yesterday I
morning Pendleton people discovered |
that the office of th> Southern Ex
press Company was on fire. Within!
a few minutes the flames had spread
to a cafe adjoining the building and
a vacant store room and all three j
buildings were completely destroyed.

While there is no positive proof of
this fact, all indications are that the
fire waa ot incendiary origin. It is
believed that some one rifled the ex
