How ever as that may be, Anderson is soon to see what real fruit culture is. pro vided the plans now buln? made by Clemson college are carried out. Information was received In Ander son yesterday, through J. W. Roth rock, county demonstration agent, to the effect that two Anderson county planters will be allowed to set aside one acre each Cc*" fruit cultivation. This one acre will be planted to ap ples, peaches and grapes, or to any one of the three fruits If the farmer so desires. Clemson college will then take charge of the proposition and In struct the planter, free of. charge, In thc art of raising the finest fruit in the world. The work will be carried on under the direction of J. W. Roth rock and Prof. C. F. Niven of Clem son college. Prof. Nivea will make frequent trips to Anderson to inspect the work and see how the farmers are getting along with the undertak ing. This information was forwarded to Anderson by Prof. W. W. Long and lt Is understood that the same proposi tion will be made to every county in the State. Each of these committees will canvass the membership of. its own church and ascertain whether or not such an organization is necessary here.
