Brazil Davis, who lived near Bel
toe, died Friday afternoon after a
long Illness. Mr. Davis was a good1
Christian man-a consistent, member
of the Baptist church-a good and,
generous neighbor-was one or thu
heroes of the Confederate army. He
was one of the best soldiers lu the

ness of three weeks. Mrs. Owens
was one of our good women, was

a husband and eight chlldron and

With thc passing of summer and
elections, comes school days again.
Just two weeks till school begins

and was laid' to rest In Belton ceme
tery, Wednesday, August 12. Tho fu

at this place in the presence of many>
sorrowing, relatives and friends. '
The deceased leaves a heart broken
husband and six children to mourn
their loss. Mrs. Knox was a daughter
of Mrs. Fowler, who In y cara gone hy
ran a very popular railroad boarding
