Mr. Employer:--'
Do you realize the importance of proper ventilation in your office, store, factory or mill ?
A poorly ventilated room means that your employees cannot give you the service required.
The lungs require fresh air, and unless they are supplied, one becomes drowsy, sleepy, and
the brain lazy, think-tank dull, and your men cannot give as efficient service as if they
were breathing pure, fresh air.
If you are interested in BETTER VENTILATION phone 223. We have a competent man
who will call promptly and discuss same with you.

ELECTRIC ALARM
GIN CASE OF FIRE
Is Said' to Be One of the Most
Pressing Needs of the City at
The Present
Among the visitors here during the
state convent'on of the Elks were a
great.many business men off on a
holiday. They did not have much
time to talk but all expressed great
surprise at the size and bustle and
substantlabillty of Anderson. Among
them were some who bad -suggestions
to offer for the future betterment of
this city, and nearly all of them urg
ed that Anderson at once go into the
building of paved streets.
But t?tere wea one especially useful j
suggestion, .coming from the city elec
trician of. Columbia, Mr. J. Talley
Harth* That gentleman was a member
of the. Colnmbla Drum corpa. He la
a splendid musician and hais been a
m ember ? of . the orchestra . of the Co
lumbia theatre for years. He has also
been the ol ty electrician for a number
of years. He says that Anderson needs
paving j and needs to get the poles off
from Main.street and the public
square. He went into ecestacies over
the white iway here and declared that
lt has.Columbia beat 40 miles in every
direction. He stated that he bad nev
er seen-anything more beautiful ia
his life and he la going to try -to get
Columbia to follow in Anderson'a foot
steps; j He declared that any city that
brightens up Its main th rough fa re at
nights will find it a profitable invest \
ment.
Mr. Harthj called attention to the
greatest.present need of Anderson-a
fire alarm system. He is well acquain
ted with. Mr. Gamewell, the Camden
man who.-Invented the system which
has been adopted all over the country
and he states that he knows that Mr.
Oamowell < will do whatever he can
for any. South Carolina city and that
it Ute city.of Anderson will Install a
system now lt- can take from five to
ten years to pay for it.
