An Age of Progress
It used to be a'comm^n error to njeglect life insur
ance. It isn't nowv? ; There are {nany evidences
that this is an age $??reat."humanity. The insane
are no longer jreate^pr''devils;'* the State is
spending money jri^rper to provide proper treat
ment m sar^itariun^pr tuberculosis patients : pure
food laws are in operation, and man's duty* to
wards his neighborsefjms to be more fully realized
Than perhaps ever before. As consid?ra iiuii fur
our fellows has beconje more marked, so has con
sideration for the welfare of our families. That is
why men think more pf life insurance today than
formerly, and why it is no tonger a common error
to neglect life insurance.
The reason many, men have not taken adequate
insurance may be summed up in the one word
DELAY. Probably c^ie-half of the men who die
uninsured, under-insufe 1 or insecurely insured,
meant to insure BUT ?DELAYED^ Are YOU go
ing to be one. of them ?
If you were born after this datein October, you
can secure insurance, im<^ date
in Apr? cheaper than you ever can again.

.'. YOUR CROP .'.
In fertilizing your cotton and corn, care should be taken to apply at
least 600 pounds of high grade fish, blood and bone fertilizer to the
aer? for the best and mest lasting results. Where less than 600
pounds of fertilizer is used to the acre, ii feds as a stimulant only, and
the crop takes more plant foo? from the soil than it furnished, and
your soil runs down, but where you use 600 pounds or more of fine
fertilizer to the acre, you furnish the soil with moie plant food, thar,
the crop takes from it and'your soil improves. And besides, the
more fertilizer you use, the faster your crop growf and the Quicker
your land is shaded and you know that ls ?n advantage."And then
with heavy fertilization you have larger stalks, more limbs and leaves
?nd bolls. This gives you more vegetable matter for the soil
this vegetable metier furnishes humus for the soil and soil without

bales, and there is where you make your money In farming.
The difference in cost of fertilizing an acre with 400 pounds and
600 pounds of fertilizer ls around $3 an acre, the difference in the
crop wi" bc ai laust pounds o?; Uni coiion and at present prices
that is a little the rise of $\3.0C, That is how it pays. There Is: no
doubt of its paying and 600 pounds to the acre will pay better than
400 pounds or 3oo pounds. Unless the ground is :n an unusually
high state of cultivation we doubt if it will pay to lise more thangoo
pounds to the acre for cotton or corn. If your lands are red our
a-3-3 or our 9-3-3 or our 10-3-3 ls about what you need.
If your lands are gray use.our 8-4-4 or our 10-4-*. If yojui are a
little bte in planting, use our io-3-3,or our 10-4-4, as the fxtra, per
centage of .phosphoric acid will hasten , the growth and maturity of
your cotton. If yon don't care to use 600 pounds to thc acre on-alt
your crop, try it on half and see where you make your m?ney.
