Following la tho annual report or

Vandlver, to the 37th. annual conven

School Association: <
- it is with' a deep sense of gratl-.
tude to the Father tor His wonderful'
leading?to the officers and coinmlt
teemen of this association, and to the
splendid body of men and "women all
over tho State, who are giving qt
their time and drain force and money
to make the organised, work in this
Mate a force for HghtoousaosB. I
eomo before you with my. fourth re
port. As this report covers but ten
months of work, It Is Hot the actual
figures that make our hearts bound
with rejoicing, but it is the quicken
ing or interest, the larger vision, the
greater consecration, which has re
sulted in improvement along all
lines of our work, which cannot: be
measured by mere figures. It would
take but a single trip. to a country
ct vent Ion or a look Into our letter
tiles to catch the eager spirit of oar
workers, and the earnestness and
seal with Which they are doing the
. work.
The splendid gathering of Sunday
school workers at the convention at
sumter and the fine Way in .which
they took hold' of tho practical sug
gestions for increasing, tho efficiency
Of our state-wide organization, laid
tho foundation for the year's work.
There has been a. marked advanr-e in
tho kind of conventions held in most
Of the counties. There is a-larger
grasp of tho meaning of the organised

methods of work..

not: get in their conventions^ perhaps
because of the-earHness of the suits*

three counties in which there has
never been an organization: Barn

five counties where the organization
is but enough alive to be called an

County Standing?
Despite the fact that wo havo been

Front Line Counties. There has-been

In addition, to the superintendents

charge of the Teacher Training work,

Mrs. 8. T. Lhfihhni haa handled the
Missionary . Department in a most
Vital and intelligent way. For the :
first tlmo she has put this depart
ment phase of our work in a definite
and comprehensive way before the
Sunday school workers of the State.
Because:Of the lack of departmental
organization in the counties, the re

leaflet she has prepared, and trough
tho use of what organization there
wasi and her department in the "Pro

Office Work.
As the field work has grown, so has
grown the office work. In ten months]
we havo sent out 4,280 personal let

thing like 16.800 pieces of literature.
The first of last October. Mat ?. Ma
mie b. Matthews, who hss served the
association so faithfully for more
than a year, resigned her position.
We then secured Miss Cora 8. Hol
la^, ^ bo s?uOe that nme^nas; car

most efficient and painstaking man

has been with us, she has shown her
