Mr. James M. linker, of Lowndesville, was in Abbeville yesterday to lieur the "Agricultural Moses." There will be a picnic at the Centre of Gravity on the 13th of August. All the candidates are invited to attend. From what we can learn it seems to be a custom for minister and steward to swap coats at one of our rural churches. Master Wald? Marshall has a registered hound pup. It was sent to him from Greenville and is a beauty of its kind. The last spike has been driven on the {Savannah Valley Railroad, and it has been turned over to the Central authorities. v The lit. Rev. Bishop Howe will visit this parish to-day, and will conduct service morning and evening. The public is invited. There was n match game oT ball between Ookesbury and Waterloo one day last week. Cokesbury was victorious by a score of 45) to 19. There will bo an extra train from this place to Ninety-Six on the day of the Stock Show. Abbeville will doubtless send down a largo delegation. Arnold on v Kvolution was enjoyed last Thursday night by a very few. His. ideas on the subject are pronounced and generally ; correct. The Literary Club met last Friday night at the residence ?of George C. Hodges, Esq. The essay was read by James S. Perrin, and th? usual refreshments were served. The new Methodist church has been recently painted and touched up generally. It is a very imposing looking utructure now, and will be quite an ornament to the tQwn when completed. The hour for the letting of Fair's bridge over Little River has been changed from ten to half-past eight )'clock on the morning of the l.'Uh instant.
