boen excited by tales of a wonderful

in a mammoth oak three, or four miles

port, that they determined to go forthwith
to the slaughter of the turkey*.

hope now lie.s in tlio Cumberland Gap

The case of Ware ts. Henderson was
argued on last Friday with a great deal
of skill by the attorney* engaged in the
cane. His honor, the Judge, remarked
that it was the knottiest case he has
had before him in a long time.
Win. H. Irvine, Kk<j., n prominont
young lawyer of the Greenville bdr, was
in town lant week in attendance upon
Court. He is the leading attorney for
the defenne in the case of Ware v?.
Henderson, and made a good impression
in his presentation of hi? case.
The chicf opponent of the rail road
in Abbevillo says ho will fight the bond*
if they are voted. Is this bulldozing ?

California and Texas, has arrived in town
to open a tailor's shop. lie is an intelligent
man. and seems a capable workman.
He ought to do well, for a tailor
is much needed in the town.

votes the only hope that Abbeville has
for a road ? The 8. V. has gono to the
Contral, and Kaoull will have aothing
to do with a road to Abbeville. "We
