On Thursday of last work at (he residence
of Captain Robert ('. Slinrj>. his

the delicate tones of the piano sounded
the wedding march, and the niarriago

which had been darkened beforehand.
Thu ceremony was performed by the
family pastor, Rev. \Y. L. l'ressloy. A
number of relatives and friends who
had been invited to participate in thu
pleasures of the occasion then came forward
and extended tiieir congratnl.il ions.
A number of beautiful presents were

and dancing, supplemented by a
supper that was dainty enough jto set
before a king. Dancing was continued
till a late hour when the young ladies
dispersed with recollections of a delightful
evening. Among the prominent
guests were (Jen. Hemphill and Mr.
Hugh Wilson. The latter had tin? honor
of attending the handsome I trifle at the
supper table and performed his pleasing
fluty with great ease ami dignity.
Miss TiOinax from Yerdery ami Miss

The lolocioinl Vote.
Mr. llfiiwt says, in regard to the South
Carolina* electoral vote, that if Senators
Hampton or Hutler had been in Washington
there would have been no trouble.
All Mr. Hutledge needed was to be
identilied, and upon opening the returns
his credentials would have been found
to bo correct. The Speaker of the
House had a certified copy of the returns
from which Mr. llutledge's credentials
could have been obtained.
lt,sccmx that the only harm that has
been done has been to delay Mr. Hutledge
in receivingMiis mileage. This lias
now been paid, and all is right.
