evergreen hedge, the gift of the ladies
of the Civic Association, is growing on
all sides. The building has seven
rooms and an auditorium. The appear
ance of our building has been greatly
lui proved by a new coat of paint. Tho
body of thc . building is painted grey
and is trimmed in white, while the
rcjf ls dark red, making a very pleas
ing combination.
Our school opened on September 14,
with on enrollment of one hundred
and twenty. We were glad to soe a
number of the people of the commun
ity "jut for our opening ns it. snows
that they , arc Interested lp what wa
ure doing.
Wo think we are very fortunato in
again securing Mr. Hanna and four
of our last yenr'o corps for our pr?s
ent session. Mr. Hanna and Miss Mc
uteken have charge of the high school,
Miss Mahaffcy of sixth and seventh
grades, Miss Ethel Cole of fourth and
fifth grades, Miss Alma Cole of sec
ond and third grades, Miss Hinnart of
first grade.
With the help of these teachers we
hope to make this the best year yet.
Baseball seems to bc the leading
game among tho boys as wo bave three
teams playing at once.
Tho girls spend their leisure time
sauntering around, tatting or playing
gahies.
Our first month's work wao very
succcsaful.
Each pupil ls roquired to pick up
