CENTRAL PROBLEMS.
No one can teach long without
seeing that lo has some problems
to solve that often demand great
Imgenuity. I conclude that only
meand women of much ability
.vor succeed as teachers; those of
sinall ability do not succeed but
people do not always find it out.
The great ones attack central pr ob.
lems: the small ones aro busy with
rrille and furbelows. :The first con

FNrnu Isi ASM.
Can you create interest? Can
y'ou keep that interest up. If so,
(ou mny be almost certain 3 ou will
mieceed. Probably only one.teach

iot my Iurpose here to speak of
he ways ini which interest is

ness.
Another p-roblem to attack ih
that of

W'e have mentioned a few of the
central problems the teacher has to

gient business, Three years aigo
the writer visited a school where
flye teachers were emplloyed; the
general condition was deplorable; it
was painful to pass from room to

inattention that was verging into
sauciness. To-day the same school

see the delight of the pupils in eve.
