sentenced to twelve months in the
North Carolina state penitentiary.
-A very enjoyable Lawn Socia
ble was given' at Col. J. E. Ha
good 's Friday night. Each person
that wvent paid five cents for every
root they were high and for every

-Mrs. Mary O'Dell, wifo of Cal

to mourn her death. Her remains

--Mrs. Looper, wife of William
Looper, of Mica, died on the 15th
inst., of fever. She was about
twenty-five years of age and a use

Baptist church. A husbnd, sev
