Sonator John T. Morgan won a very
romarkablo case In the probate court
of Mobile County, Ala., by using the
Biblo as his ohlof book of rofereneo
beforo the jury.
. A lady possessed of considerable
piroperty, died and on her deathbed
OXCOuted a will, leaving Overything
she owned to her throo daughters.
Soon after her doath, tht dwelling in
which the young ladies resided was
burned, andt the will was dostroyed
before it was probated.
Tihe three young diughiitrs sought,
to probate a copy of the will drawn up
fr-on what they remiemn bered of its con
tents. Other heirs undertook to light
the case. Sonator Alorgan reptrn-oted
the young ladies, and a veiy distini
guished e.-judge of Alabania rpre
sented the contestant:. The case
came up for a hearing before .1 udge
I'rico Williams, .1r., who is still the
probate judge of Mobile County. I
Was at that, time a clerk inl tUe record
ollice and was present during the hear
oig of the ease. A jury was asked for
