Sir: I notice in your issue of the 17th instant you Announce the death of W. H. Summey, it is a mis take he is neither dead nor sloop ing, but up and attending to his fi nancial affairs. W. H. SuMMEY. Gertrude, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Pritchard, died in Anderson County, on tho 20 th - instant from cholera infantui, and was buried at Prospect Church the day following. The funeral servi ces were conducted by Rev. B. Hayes. Deputy Marshalls F. E. Cox, J. B. King, P. F. Thornley and raid ing deputy R. E. Causey, of North Carolina, raided and captured a blockade distillery, and in the dis tillery J. M. and W. M. Chapman was found on Eastatoe, last Sun day morning. It is a great mistake to suppose that a simple tonic gives strength; it only stimulates the stomach to renewed action. To impart real strength, the blood must be puri fied and enriched, and this can on ly be done by such a standard al terative as Ayer's Sarsaparilla. We have been requested by the postmaster at Gates, to say that the mail will arrive at that place, at 10 a.m. and leave at 10.15 from now on in place of 11.15, on same days, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Mrs. Joe Pearson was in Pickens last week, and billed the town with her posters of her medicines. She does not depend upon others to do her work, but does her own post ing.
