That Shows Progress in Farming. a

velvet beans that we have ever had. e
and most of the acreage is especially "
good. A large part of these beans
will be hogged off, while a good part
of them will be turned under to improve
the land for next year's crop.
Both methods will leave the land in
better shape to cut the fertilizer bill
next year.
S. M. Byars, Anderson.?The greatest
part of my time has been taken
up with planning for soil building
crops, planting alfalfa, etc. There is
every indication that the greatest
acreage ever planted to winter legumes
will be planted this fall. Already
alfalfa is being planted. There are
