During this week many interesting
cases are being passed upon by the
iur.v in the court of common piers.
Some of the cases involve very small
amounts and could be disposed of
very well in the county court if the
county had such a court. It wil be
before the people on November 7th,
and they will decide on mat day
whether we are to have a more speedy
way of disposing of such cases. Some
change is absolutely necessary in order
to take care of the increased business
of the place.

FALSEHOOD DENOUNCED.
We, the undersigned Board of Honor
of Confederate Veterans of Horry
County, do take particular pleasure in
denouncing the utterly false rumors
which have been circulated during
the recent Campaign against the
Probate Judge of Horry County regarding
the handling of the Pension
runds. He is not even a member of
the Pension Board, but is required by
law to act as Clerk for the Hoard, to
do as directed by the Board, and to
keep a correct record of a'l matters
pertaining to the Pension fund, and
disburse the funds to the different
Classes as directed by the Board, and
all this we are confident h} nas done.
But any rumor intimating that he
has mis-applied a single penny of '?he
Pension Fund, we denpunco j.s basely
false, and we desire to enter our protest
publicly against any such rottenness
In politics as has been used in
the recent campaign against him.
