Editor:
Please allow me space in your valuable
nr.per for a few items, as it
may interest some Horryite.
The health of the peonle through
this vicinity is very good. This part
of the state naturally being a very
h'e'alfhy spot! The truck farmers
fKv^unrh thi? section ,'?re prep-irine* for
a l^rge crop of cHerv <nnd Wtuce
with a good many other things in the
trucking line. This part of Mie state
is noted for its trucking and its citrus
fruit-growing. We have the promise
of a very good crop of oranges and
grape fruit this season. Thoueh it
might have been a great deal better
had it not been for the dry we.ather
for the past summer. The truckers
are oretting a little too much rain to
suit them now. But it is suitable to
the fruitgrowers. T am located one
hundred and thirty miles south of
Jacksonville, and according to wha'
nil visitors say this is about the choicest
spot alonrr t. he E.ast coast of the
state. V. L. Todd, formerlv of Horrv,
now of St. Auaustine Fla., and his
little son, has been snending several
days sijrht seeinnr and takincr in this
beautiful spot of territory. Mr. Todd
snvs he has seen a good portion of
Fla.. but this is his choice spot for
l>eautv and comfort.
T was formerly of Horry and T still
.am in love with my farmer home and
1 am a subscriber for the good old
Horry Herald and always like to read
the news of my former home and
friends. I am glad to know of the
many improvements that have been
taking place in Horry in the last few
years and I hope she may continue
to improve as she has before. Wo
have quite a number of Horryites located
around Deland engaged in
trucking and citrus fruit-growing. T
will come to a close this time. If
this misses the waste basket I will
write again.
Hoping to hear from some other
Horryites, with best wishes to the
Herald and its many readers, I remain,
Very trulv vours.
