School year at the Conway Baptist
CJhurch. New officers will be elected
and installed for the new year which
begins the first Sunday in October.
Phe organized classes will also elect
their new officers and reorganize for
another year.
The policy of the Sunday School for
the next year depends on what hap
pens at the Sunday session. This
makes next Sunday a very important
[lay in Conway in so far as the Baptist
population is concerned.

The farmers of this section have
been very busy gathering fodder and
grading tobacco. The most >f th:?
farmers have finished grading and
tying their tobacco and hope to finish
selling in about two weeks.
Gathering hay and cotton is the
next job.
Mrs. N. B. Mishoe has just returned
from .^siting her daughter in
Florence, and lW sons in Lake City.
Mrs. W. C. VVatkins went to Marion
and Dillon this week.
Mrs. S. B. Mishoe, of Lake City,
and Mrs. Ida Brajon, of Florence,
spent several days visiting relatives
and friends in this section.
M iss Helen Thomas, Home Demonstration
Agent for Horry County,
met the leaders of this section at
the home of Mrs. N. -B. Mishoe, on
the 13th, for the purpose of teaching
the ladies how to make better butter.
Mrs. Fannie Martin is having an
avenue built from her home to the
Kates Bay public loau that resembles
n national highway.
Cox and Sing have been very busy
in the well work in this section for
several weeks. Their first work was
putting down a well on the four-acre
lot of the new school building, which
is take the place of Seven Mill. When
they had reached a depth of two
hundred and seventy-five feet they
got a flow of forty-five gallons per
minute.
They cleaned out a well on the

for Mr. Hudson Smith about 2(?0
feet and cased it. It flowed about
15 gallons per minute.
Mr. J. C. Brown an A. B. graduate

Miss Johnnie Atkinson gave a surprise
party on Monday afternoon,
September 11th, in honor of Miss
Bessie Dusenbury, who loft the following
clay for Lander College.
Those invited were: Miss Atkinson's

Miss Bessie'Dusenbury was a member.
After several amusing games had

been served on the porch, the jolly

At the session of the criminal

in October, Mendel L. Smith, of
