issued upon a judgment rendered

Mr. R. M. Cooper, Jr., President of
the State Fair, announced that plans
were, being perfected to honor the
Confederate veterans at the State
Fair. He stated that arrangements
would be made to admit these veterans
without charge that they may
view the progress of the State the>
love so well. "This is a duty that the
State owes her valiant heroes," said
Mr. Cooper, "and it will be a distinct
honor to the State Fair to have ""'S'1
men as her guests. The exhibits this
year will be of such magnitude and
merit as to truly depict the growth,
progress, and resourcefulness of our
State and none take greater priae in
> our advancement than the beloved
gray haired veterans. All honor to

Very satisfactory advances have
been secured by the Co-operatives
from the committee of North Carolina
bankers on the tobacco of Eastern
Carolina growers.
Each member received his casii
advance upon delivering tobacco
last week and in addition was given
his participation receipt. The participation
receipt is guarantee that
he will receive all future payments
for his tobacco, and is proving
valuable collateral for loans by
growers, both in Kentucky and South
Carolina.

Henry Dovle, Sr., much above the
age of eighty years, passed away at
his home at Cool Springs last Tuesday.
The funeral took place at Cool
Springs, at 4 o'clock on Wednesday
afternoon. He was among the best
citizens of his time.
