One of the features of the monthly

by Mayor L. D. Magrath, who gave

I town. Among other things Mayor
I i'lUfti avn i(iin:u (Ult'llliuil tl) IIIC liltt
that Cojiway had over twelve miles
of streets and that the town during
I the last two years had constructed
14,002 feet of paved sidewalks which
I was quite an addition to that already
J in. Attention was also called to the
fact that the town had added a coni,
binaiion chemical engine and hose
truck, made by the American La
France Company and motor driven,
to thq lire department and a Studebaker
sprinkler to the street department.
Additions had been made to
the dr;iinage and large extensions to
the waterworks.
During lt)21 the town had issued
twenty-eight* permits for new dwellings
and within a half mile of the corporate
limits of the town thirty-one
new dwellings had been erected.
Special interest was manifested in
tho statement that an active campaign
had been started to remove the
railroad from Main street ar.d that
attorneys had been employed and
money appropriated to see it through.
He stated that no letup would be
made until it is accomplished. Another
item of interest is that in the
near future we will have a sett'inj;
I tank and reservoir which will greatly
improve the waterworks, tho need of

THE HORRY HERALD, OONW/
TILLEY MINCEY
FOUND IN ROAD
Coroner is Notified but Doctor
Finds no Evidence of
Foul Play
Excitement was caused last Friday
by the finding of the body of a dead
man on the road in Gallivants Ferry
township. Those who found him could
not identify him and the matter was
reported to the coroner.
The coroner made an investigation
and the result of it is related in the
testimony of Dr. H. H. Burroughs,
which is reported as follows:

This body was carefully examined
and there was no evidence of any
wounds of any character having been
inflicted, but from general appearance

! as that of Tilley Minccv. a white mar

upper jaw iceth, 1 lue eyes and a good
bit of gray hair in beard. The body
was identified by John Roberts of
Homewood, S. C., W. Elbert Holt of
Avnor, and a young man named Harrelson.
This deceased person passed the
residence of .J. C. Coats sometime between
