Lewis, SherilV, left here on Tuesday of last week with a requisition for the arrest of R. P. Peterson, who was held at Washington, N. C., awaiting the action of the authorities f the two states. The charge against kirn is the stealing of an automobile from R. L. Bell at Wampee, S. C. The crime was committed about two months ago, when Peterson slipped >his car away. The owner found it rut and pursued Peterson and hp loft he car by the side of the road. He remained in the North Carolina jail for about twenty days. He will bo tried here for the crime at the *ext term of the court.
