'COPPERHEAD"
MONDAY, 11TH
Sreat Screen Success to Appear
at Pastime With
Great Actor.
Lionel Barrymore repeats in the
screen version of "The Coperhead"
he striking impression which he
nade in this great drama of Civil
War times when it was produced as a
itage nlay. It will appear at the Pas
;ime Monday, April 11th.
Augustus Thomas's story has been
?iven a sympathetic interpretation
< -,c ?r0 an(j a sctting remarkably
realistic in its detail that adds|
considerably to the enjoyment of the |
picture. lnf'*,;te pains have been
taken to reproduce the atmosphere ol
the time and locale of "The Oopperlead,"
particularly in the Mexican
Civil Wars episodes. The result has
been most happy and a credit to
Charles Maigne, who directed tho
film.
Lionel Harry more brings to the
role' of Milt Shanks, the hero, the
same fine qualities as an actor and
penetrating understanding of character
that scored so emphatically in
the stage- version. The story of Milt's
self-sacrifice while performing a
delicate and most important mission
for President Lincoln is particularly
?imeiy in these postwar days. The
picture is a Paramount Artcraft.

SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC.
The Service Class of the Methodist

teachers, cnioyed a picnit out on the
National Highway Friday afternoon.
This is a remarkably active class, h
is in charge of the Home Department
of the Sunday School, besides
other constructive work.
Co-incidental with the Service
Class picnic was the first long hike
of the Boy Scouts. This, too, was
out on the National Highway. Of
course, the Service Class, noted for
its good deeds, could not allow the
Scouts to "pass by a picnic without
inviting them to partake. All hearty
people know the rest.
In every way it was a pleasant
occasion. The Service Class and the
