The farmers have evidently been wasting their j time to some extent. Even if the1 price of cotton is lower than usual, it is better to pick it at a low price than to not pick it at all. Lilly were all in Conway on business la-st Saturday. ***** There was a fine motion picture at the Pastime Wednesday night of last week, founded on the novel written by the "Tiger" of France and entitled "The Strongest." The purpose of the book and also of the film is to show that love is stronger than material things. In many cases the treasurer has had to write out the receipt while the taxpayer waited for him to j do this. Always before the receipts } were written up ahead of time and , the taxpayer did not have to wait while it-was being; written. This year the treasurer did not get the tax duplicate from the auditor until late ; in the winter and there was not time I in which to fill out so many receipts ahead of time. * * * * * For all kinds of hauling1, anywhere, short or long* distance, g-ct my prices before having your hauling: done. An unusually pretty marriage took place Thursday at high noon, when Miss Dorothy Estes, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Estes, was wedded to JVlr. Thelbcrt .J. Lewis of Conway, S. C. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's j parents on East Park avenue, in the j presence of relatives and a few of the most intimate friends of the young couole. The impressive ceremony was performed bv Dr. Georcre W. Quick, of the First Baptist church, assisted by Dr. B. D. Hahn, of the Pendleton street Baptist church. The parlor and reception hall were tastefully decorated with palms, ferns and flowering plants, forming a beautiful setting for the marriage ceremony. The bride was lovely in a navy blue tailored suit with a small black hat and an armful of bride's roses and ferns. The bride was attended by Mi ss Margaret Walters of Columbia, and the groom was attended by his best man, Mr. Paul Clyde of Spartanburg. Immediately after thci ceremony a tempting salad course was served, the bride and groom leaving at once for a short wedding trip, after which they will go to Conway, S.
