WHY BOILS
GOME BACK
"The Cause is in the System,
Not on the Surface. A
Boocf Stimulant Helps
4 the Blood.
Boils, ulcers, infected skin and
muscle 'swelling1 arfe all akin. Drive
away the boil and it comes again in
another place. Dry up the ulcers
and heal the infected places and
they promptly return. Reduce the
swelling and it will re-appear. It
is in the blood, transplanted in the
system.
External treatments are only
temporarily successful. Nothing
short of a good tonic will suffice.
SarDraS, an excellent compound
of medicinal herbs and roots, an excellent
intestinal stimulant, will attack
the seat of the trouble.
It cleanses the system and blood
and drives away impurities. It
cleanses the stomach, liver and kidneys
and nature does the re^t. Common
laxatives only leave you in a
worse shape than before. A tablespoonful
taken before each meal
will tone up (he system and make
a new person of you. Contains no
alcohol. Try it a while.

Mr. J. S. Vaught, Judge of Probate
of Horry County, was away
several clays last week at Bennettsville,
South Carolina, having been
summoned over there as a witness to
identify George C. Cannon as being
the .same George Cannon who formerly
lived in this County and moved
to Marlboro county, where he
is now engaged in teaching school.
It will be remebered that Cannon
taught in the common schools of
Horry County for a number of yearn '
before he was tried with his twj
brothers on a charge of larceny
from the store of W. Boyd Jones,
and for sometime he has not* been
known in this section of the State
and it was a surprise to some that
the Judge of Probate had been sum- <
moned as a witness in a hearing J
held by the Board of Trustees in ^
Marlboro County to establish the j
identity of Cannon.
Judge Vaught leturned the latter
part of last week, and it is said, (
that he identified George C. Canncn,
of Marlboro County, as being the 1
same as George Cannon, who was
known in this County. 1
It. appears that he has been teach '
iing in Marlboro County J or some <
time and everything went along <
smoothly until recently he was
charged with being the same George \
Cannon who was charged and con- t
victed of larceny in Horry county. <
The attempt to oust him from the <
school was resisted and he employed t
an attorney. The trustees employed (
attorneys to represent them, Mr. I). i
D. McCall being among the number. F
Mr. Vaught was not the only evi- <c
dence from Horry County that is be-L
ing used in the investigation. Clerk (j
of Court, W. L. Bryan, was called to F
furnish a certified copy of the indict
ment, c >nviction and sentence of the
teacher. The records at the Court
house show the following facts: That 1
George Cannon was indicted jointly {
with Walker Cannon and Jim Can- f
non for grand larceny and a true (
hill >,vas found by the Grand Jury at .
the summer term of the Court of
General Session on May 28th, 1015. c
This finding is signed by Robbie
Stalvey, Foreman; the indictment
charges the theft of goods from the
store of W. Boyd Jones, amounting
in value to the sum of $151.54. The (
case was tried at the summer term ,
for 1915 by Judge R. W. Mommin- ;
ger, and the verdict of guilty ap- \

written out, George getting a different
sentence from his two brothers.
George was sentenced to two
years at hard labor on the public
works or a like period in the State
Penitentiary, while his two brothers,
Walker and Jim, each got eighteen
months at hard labor. The sentence
was served out by George Cannon in
the Horry County Chain Gang.
Judge Vaught left Bennettsville before
the investigation had been ended
and could not give any information
as to what the result of the
trial would be. Judge Vaught says
| that at the end of the hearing the
attorney for George C. Cannon
spoke up and said that his client
had claimed that he was not the
same George Cannon and that he
still claimed he was not.

WATCH YOUR KIDNEYS.
Inhaling the fumes of turpentine
and white lead often weakens the
kidneys. That's one reason why so
many painters have bad backs and
sick kidneys. Exposure, frequent
colds and chills and the strain of
climbing up and down ladders help
start the trouble.
If your back aches, if sharp pains
strike you in the back when stooping,
or working; if you have headaches,
dizziness, rheumatic pains; if
the urine itj discolored or pussager
painful and scanty, try Doan's Kid- J
ney Pills, the remedy so widely
used and so well recommended by
men in the painting trade. Here's a
Conway testimony.
Harmon H<ousend, painter, says:
uI think inhaling the fumes of ttjifpon^ine
is what weakened my kidT
neys. I h^l to get tip very often

Oh, heart, return to Bethlehem
And hear its song again!

If thou hast quaffed the bitter draft
Of enry or of pride.
If thou in agony of shame
Hast thy dear Lord denied.

Though thou hast wandered far.
No rest shall (ill thy yearning breast
Until thou see the Star.
Oh, heart, return to Bethlehem*
Where yet the angefs are!
