Automobiles are multiplying in
this County at a rapid rate. There
arc quite a number of different
kinds of passenger touring1 cars
now being* sold by Agencies' at
Conway and other towns in the
County. Most of those who arc
buying automobiles at this time
have had very little, or no previ us
experience, in the care that should
be exercised in order to make the
machine last as long as it should,
and the owner thereby gets out of
it tlie service and possibly oth r
returns that should be had. This
matter of taking care of the machine,
results in having the machine
ready to go, when the ewn< r
wants to go. and the added satisfaction
of a go'id running moto
* and a long period of use before
it lias Income worn out and ready
to be thrown away. We have stat d
all of the above in order to lead up
to what wc wish to publish tor the
benefit of those who are now buying
automobiles,, as well .as for the
benefit of these who already own

oils placed in the crankcase of
the motors, until this oil becomes

cylinder oil forms an acid, princi,
pally sulphuric acid, and this acid

which contain nickel.
Interesting tests have been rej
cently completed showing that on a
motor when the oil had not been
drained in 3.000 miles of running,
the timing clvnn and other motor,'
parts in a Cleveland automobile
I showed 500 per cent more wear
! than the same parts on another
model exactly like it. where the oil
had booh changed at the end of
evr-ry 500 miles while tho 3,000
miles wo re being run.
You will doubtless find this .'idvice

book, hut whether you find it or j
not, learn how to drain the oil out
of the motor and leplace this with
fresh oil after cleaning out the
crankcase with kerosene, or hav?a
competent man at the gar.age t >
do it. It is not so important to j
drain the stiff grease out of' the
transmission and deferential but
it will make those parts last almost
twice as long if the g'-e.ase
is cleaned out at regular intervals
and new grease put in.
