found in various sections of tho
county.
One severe outbreak of red spider
has been successfully coped with
, during the past week. The partial
destruction of a patch of violets i
rnvar the cotton field accounted fori
iUs attacking the cotton at so - arly I
a. time, the violets being its winter j
host and main feed olant for the |
red spider until thev reproduce ro i
such an exb3nt that the violets will I
no longer accomodate them, at
which tinuv they migrate to the cotton
plants.
Mr. Ekioxor states that all of
these insect pests are appearing in ,
destructive numbers earlier this
year than usual.
