Dr. Michel attained quite a considerable fame during the influenza 1 epidemics, when he aided in check- < ing the disease along the North Carolina coast. He used an airplane in i making his rounds, and is said to j have been the first physician to 1 make use of aircraft for regular professional travel. Alarmed by the spread of the plague in the Vera Cruz district, Her I oert V. Lewis, president of the Amor ican Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and treasurer of newly formed international committee of fi reign chamber of commerce in Mex"*?o, has cabled the American Red Cross for aid. The international committee, says the Red Cross announcement, was formed for the express purpose of I supplementing the work of the Mex! ican board of health in the crisis.
