reasons for opposing- the "more fence
law."
Four reasons vs. Mr. Gorrald: 1st,
The Jackson-Gerrald plan means buy
ir.g hogs to start with every year
which is not only expensive but is
always starting and his flock never
gets any larger. When a business!
man * ets a year's start in a new on-1
tei prise he isn't apt to drop that aYid ,
make a new start in the same time. |
Second, Some one must raise hogs
to sell to Mr. Gerrald and, of course,
they will have brood sows. It's easy
to see that the pork raiser who has
no brood sows is a slacker.
Third, Mr. Gerrald's pasture wa*
too small t > be practiced. Any grazIing
crop would easily ho eaten off a j
