NITRATE TO BE SOLI).
Washington.?Under authority of
a joint resolution adopted recently
by congress, the war department released
100,000 tons of nitrate of soda
for sale to the public. The selling
price has been fixed at $88.90
per ton, which is estimated to be the
price cost to the government.
The stocks from which the nitrate
will be drawn are at Brunswick, Ga.,
Fernandina, Fla., Galveston, Texas,
Jacksonville, Pensacola, Tampa,
# Little Rock, Hopewell, Va., and Nitro,
W. Va.
