In some sections of the county the
influenza has jusi now obtained a
Rood hold; while in others numbers
of patients are recovering1 from the
disease.

It is only reasonable to think tha
this is one year when the use of
fertilizers will pay the farmers a
good return.

Local politics could not stand th?

there is nothing else of more interest,
local politics will come to the
front. Horry will show her interest
from the very beginning.

A representative from Georgetown

stock law act in the Legislature.
This meant that his county wanted
to come out from under the free
range law, and this would have caus
e^| Horry to have to fence off from
Georgetown if the exemption of
Horry had carried.
The chamber of commerce, as a
live and active member of this community,
will do more for the town
and the county than we can now estimate.
The thing to do now is to
help their efforts along.

The man who decides that the end
of possible improvement in human
affairs lies ciine makes a ?ad mistake
both for himself and others.

The heavy hauling that the prin
cipal streets of Conway must now
stand, and which will increase as
time goes on, demands that something
harder than mere clay and
sand should be used to support the
load.

At the hearing last Thursday Col. t
C. P. Quattlebaum appeared representing
Solicitor L. M. Gasque, who
had been retained to repiesent Mrs.
Etta V. Altman, one of the defendants.
Mr. Gasque cou.d not attend
last Thursday and the reference was
again continued until Thursday,
April 16th, when it will be conclu 1cd.
