CALLED TO WAMPEE. Sheriff James A. Lewis vns sum moned to go to Wampec, S. C., one night last week, supposed to need hi presence in order to quell a disturbance of the peace. The sheriff went and returned the following m r iu.g and reported there was nothing found for him to do when lie arrived there. It is stated that there had been a dispute between Messrs. O. J. Mr. Curry, of the Sumter Chapter, was present and gave a number of interesting plans for the betterment of the local Chapter. The eyes of America are um?n rtm American Legion. It is to become a big practical, constructive organizalon?the greatest in Ihe United States. First, it is a body working with high, clear an I unselfish ideals and using the best methods of attaining them. Now is the time for all ex-service rr.cn to avail themselves of the opportunity to line up with this live organization.
