FURTHER INFORMATION
ABOUT EXPLOSIVES
This paper published some information
recently concerning efforts made
by Hon. Hal L. Buck to secure from
the Government some dynamite or
TNT for use in agricultural operations
in this County. Efforts have so
far failed to obtain any allotment of
this material for this County or any
other in the District.
The last communication on the subject
is a letter from United States
Senator Dial to Mr. Buck, dated January
12th, 1920, rending as follows:
"There is no change as yet in regard
to the distribution of rlvnamitn

or TNT for agricultural and recl.nmation
work. The Department of Agriculture
is still endeavoring to obtain
a large allotment of high explosives
for these purposes but the matter
remains under discussion between
the War Department on the one hand
and the Departments of the Interior
and Agriculture on the other. A num
ber of us, respresenting Southern
States, arc pressing for early action."
