It was stated here last week by
travelling men for the wholesale
houses that the price of sugar will
go upward in a very short time and
may retail at the price of about twenty-seven
cents. The sugar which was
recently distributed here and stated
as coming from Louisiana, is of varios
colors and there has been some
complaint about it, though there was
nothing said about the sweetness of
it, this most important quality being
present.
?
After the recent light rains some
of the roads were improved by the
use of a drag.
The national highway that will
pass through Conway connecting this
town with Georgetown, will add
greatly to the value of lands in two
sections of this county.
m ?
It is easy to rent good farms in
this county. The reason is to be
found in the fertile lands and the
great variety of crops that may be
raised with profit.
