CAUGHT FOR STEALING.
Pritchard Davis, a negro cook, was
ai re, ted a few nights ago while trying*
to pilfer a residence in the town.
He was tried the next day in the town
court and sentenced to ninety (90)
days on the public works. After his
present sentence has been served it is
said he will have to answer to another
charge which will doubtless give him
a still longer term.
He had evidently been pilfering
porches and even the rooms in the
dwellings for some time. Rev. B. G.
Murphy found a broom and a nip:
4 hat had boon missing" from his house
for some time. He had been seen
loitering about the residences on Beat .
Street and in other nearby blocks. It
is believed that he was responsible for
much of the stealing that had been
going on lately in Conway.

I hold title as trustee to a tract of
150 acres of land in Pee Dee River
Swamp, and bounded Northwest by
lands formerly belonging to Charles
Dusenbury, Southeast by lands of the i
estate of Dennis Cannon, a*nd on the
East by lands of A. J. Brown. This
being a part of the tract of land formerly
owned by Jesse P. Williams,
and adjoins what is known as the
Altman Island tract of land. This
land has been recently surveyed so
that I can show a plan of all the linos
and the dividing line between this
tract and A. J. Brown has been run
out and settled.
I will have to sell this land in order
to pay expenses connected with |
it and wind up the matter. Those I
who are interested in either the land
or the timber, or both together, will
please let me have their best bids on
this property as I intend to make a
sale of it.
