V AUGHT-PROCTOR.
j . > . ,
An interesting event of last Saturday
afteratohr rft the hour of s>*
o'clock, - was the wedding*, of i-Miss
Gussie Vaught ? to Mr. Clemson
Proctor, at the residence of the
bride's parents. It was a quiet home
wedding, only a small number of the
close friends and relatives of the contracting
parties being present at the
ceremony.
The parlor of the home was tastily
decorated in ferns and potted plants,
green and white being the color
scheme, and vari-colored candles lent
a soft brilliance to the room. The
ceremony was performed by the Jtev.
D. L. Hill, pastor of the Conway
Baptist church, and it was all very
simple but impressive. The wedding
march was skillfully played by Mrs.
Geo. L. Marsh.
The best man was Mr. F. M.
Floyd, and the place of Maid of
Honor was fillet! by Miss Fitagerrald,
a close friend of the bride. The
bride was given away by her brother,
Mr. Joseph Vaught, of Wilmington,
N. C. After the ceremony the couple
loft immediately for Nichols, S. C.,
where they caught the late afternoon
train for Florida where they will
spend about two weeks before return
ing home.
The bride was becomingly gowncn
in a brown travelling suit with hat
and shoes to match, and carried a
large bouquet of white chrysanthemums.
She is the eldest daughter ei
Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Vaught, Her
father is the Judge of Probate of this
county. She received early training
ar an expert typist and stenographer
and was engaged in an important
position with the government at
Washington, during the late war
among the nations of the world.
Since the war she has held a position
in the law offices of Hon. E. J. Sherwood.

the first rural free delivery route established
out of Conway. He served
his counti^ in the world war. He has
the qualities which make for a successful
life. Both of the young people
have numbers of friends in this
county who will join together in
wishing them every success.
The brothers of the bride were
here from Wilmington to attend the
wedding.
