0 PAGE TWO BOLL WE??i IS BEGINNING BUSINESS While Land Owners Associa tion Make P ans Against >i Him BOLL WEEVIL RELIEF NOW BEING PLANNED Efforts Will Be Made to Establish Home Markets for Stock. / Charleston, Oot. 29.?The Boll Weevil has started up in business in Charleston, has hung out his shingle and is already doing* a thriving business. This statement was made yesterday afternoon at the hendnuartera of tho South Carolina Landowners Association. in this city. The statement goes on to say that a report has been received from North Carolina that considerable damage to the cotton crop, this year, has been done by the pest. This indicates that the Boll weevil has, in one year, traveled clear across the State and on further North. George It Wheeer, Manager of the Association, stated that a series of meetings are being arranged ;n Georgetown, Florence, Marion, Dillon, Bennottsville, and Sumter. At theso meetings tho fanners, bankers and business men will gather together and form committees to canvass tho towns and counties for mem bers for the association. Following those meetings and the necessary organization work the same plan of operations will be folio wed in those counties towards the establishment of home markets for live stock and diversified f'?.rrn nmltirts ??
