The price ofood is too high and while it may remain up for a time yet; it is bourn' to go down, and everything else will go down with it when it drops. The i silver dollar is now worth something less than fifty cents. But the tinr is coming when a dollar will b" worth a dollar as times wei e before. o INFLATED PRICES. In the opinion of many business men, the price of real estate is inflated now just as the price of other things are. Some people are buying land at these inflated prices, and some of them are giving mortgages to secure the unpaid part of the purchase money at eight percent per annum. At the recent term of the criminal court, Bellamy vas tried for housebreaking and lar;eny and was convicted by the jury. BOLL WEEVIL ARRIVES. Mr. W. O. Davis, Farm Demonstration Agent for Horry County, stated ast Tuesday that the boll weevil had irrived in Horry County. He was lion making preparations to go into he country to make a careful investigation of the insect and said that ie would make a full report of the natter later for publication. FOR HOUSE BREAKING. Until recently several houses were entered in the night time and various irt.icles of clothing were stolen by night thieves in Conway. Among those losing property were Messrs. J. P. Williams and M. G. Andersen. The stealing stopped upon the arrest last week of one Dick Collins, :*olored, who lives across the lake from Conway. Lots of stolon property was found in the possession of Dick when he was taken. It is stated that this stealing had been going en in other sections of Conway at the same time that things were being taken in the prominent rosi lonec sec tion of the town. o | AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT.
