reservation Republicans in negotiating
with them said there was no
drubt that the reservation would
have Democratic support. Members of
this group also have said that at least
the twenty Republicans needed to insure
the treaty's ratification had
signified their willingness to accept
the general provisions of this program.
Meantime a new draft of reservations
was being shown Republican
senators by Republican Leader Lodge. '
