Welborn, chairman of the Atlanta federal reserve bank, addressed the delegates at a maviring at which every Southern State was represented. Mr. Wannamakcr as- 1 sorted that the association is deter- i mined to keep the price of cotton up ! to a reasonable standard and said its i work would be of great benefit to the , workers in the cotton fields as well as ! to plantation owners and small' plant- { ers. GERMAN SPIES GAVE ; AMERICANS MUCH AID' New York?Another version of ho a* & thu American army was aided by the c two mysterious German prisoners of I I war, Alfred Schulz, a lance corporal c ard Alvin Grothe, an aviator, who t arrived here Monday from France and c who now are being held at Hobok- t en pending receipt of orders from s Washington to send them to the na- f tional capital, were obtained from a , non-commissioned officer formerly at- ( tached to the intelligence department of the army. According to this non- * commissioned officer the prisoners, * wearing German uniforms, mingled I with prisoners captured by the Americans awaiting transportation to the rear and after conversing with these prisoners informed an American officer if the information obtained from them under examination was correct. This non-commissioned officer, who wished his name withheld, said he distinctly remembered one case in which Srhiil7. sthnurfvl t.hf? Amprinnnu n Clnr I man officer had lied to them. "It was a German major," he said. "Schulz, dressed as a lieutenant, discovered the major had lied. The major was hauled up out of bed and taken before American officers. Some German privates were led into the same room. Then after the major had been accused of lying, his insignia of rank was stripped from his uniform while the privates looked on and he was sent to the cage for en- J listed men for the night. The next day he was detailed, like an enlisted man, for the dirtiest jobs around head quarters. 'We had to be careful that Schulz s activities should not be discovered by 11 r 1 . l 1- ? .1 June vjrcrmans, in one msuinct' we nan a man in the cages and the nature of his work was discovered by the other prisoners. They killed him before daylight with their bare hands. We never left Schulz in a cage after C)GC) has proven it will cure Malaria, Chills and Fever, Bilious Fever, Colds and LaGrippe.
